computer can't reset

I just build my first computer with AMD Athlon 1.1 & Epox8KTA3+Pro motherboard, 300W case. Everything works fine except for the reset button. Every time I press reset button, monitor turns black, light on CD rom flashing once or twice. but computer just doesn't restart. I have to press power button to shut it down and turn it back on. I already double check reset cable and connected it to the right place in motherboard according to the manual. Can any one suggest what can be done.

Well the first thing is was going to suggest was to check your reset lead to your mobo and make sure it was correct. hmmmm let me think.......:rolleyes:
