Can anyone help me decipher what the 10x/4x/32x means in CD lingo.

Its the speed the machine writes, rewrites and reads to or from your disks...

To be more specific:

10x - write speed (CD-R)
4x - rewrite (CD-RW)
32x - general CD-ROM speed

Plextor 12x10x32 with burn proof.......$250 to $260 online price

Zip 650 12x4x32 with burn proof.....$199 after rebate at Best Buy.

Zip 650 8x4x32.....$129...after rebate at Best Buy


I've been shopping around, want to get a 12x model with Burn Proof but may wait til christmas to see if the prices drop!
