IM looking at a dell p3700 with 128ram 16mb ati video card. What size desktop machine can i compare it too. Will it be somthing like a P2450 or somthing like that? The dam thing will cost almost 3000.00 is this to much and will it play quake3 in fastest playing mode? Ive played Motocross 2 with a p3 450 and it was almost playable at 640X 480
it was a dell with a 8mb video card

The Dell machine you mentioned is probably the closest you are going to get right now to a gaming latop, with its 16MB ATI card. However, it is not wonderful compared to pretty much any card released in the last 18 months to 2 years for desktop PCs. I wouldn't rely on it to play your new games on if I were you http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I have the 8MB version of that card on my PC and it is just about possible to play a few games at 800x600 or 640x480. I heard rumours awhile back about the Geforce 2 MX being put into laptops, and apparently it is possible for it to be used in laptops, but so far it hasn't materialised.
