I am building a comp with an Abit KG7 mobo and an Athlon 1.4 GHz, 266 FSB processor.
But what kind of Ram? I am going to use DDR but do I use pc2100,pc1600,pc2400? or what????
Does it matter?

If you are using a 266MHz FSB processor use PC2100.
PC1600 = 8 bytes x 200 MHz (100 x 2 (DDR))
PC2100 = 8 bytes x 266 MHz (133 x 2 (DDR))
PC2400 = 8 bytes x 300 MHz (150 x 2 (DDR))
PC2400 DDR SDRAM would be too fast for a 266 FSB processor since it runs at 300 MHz using DDR. The number after the "PC" is the bandwidth, the maximum bandwidth that is supported by a 266 FSB CPU is approximately 2100 MB/sec, if you use PC2400 the processor would become a bottleneck for the PC2400 memory.
