I just logged on to sysopt and now I see all this flaming...

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

A) I thought it was agianst policy to flame.

B) What is techimo.com and internet.com?

C) What started this (NOT WHO!!!)?

D) Where's socalgal when you need 'er? ;)

A) We are flaming the ownership. There are no mods and only one admin now, who has a total of 4 posts here and was named less than a week ago as the admin.

B) TechIMO.com is Scott Wainner's new site. He started Sysopt.com in 1994. More on an answer below.
Internet.com is the company that owns Sysopt and several other sites that are honestly in severe decline.

C) What started this? Well, Scott Wainner was the owner. he sold the site to Erthweb in 1999 to get more resources for the site (he really gained no money he would not have gotten anyway since this site was so lucrative with NO overhead). In Dec of 2000, internet.com bought Earthweb. At that time sysopt's budget was severely cut and Scott was the only person affiliated that got paid. Socalgal, Mntsnow, robRich, mstubble were ALL laid off. The site kept building because Scott's full-time job was sysopt. He is the one that caded all you see here, the databases, resellerratings.com, EVERYTHING. Scott was laid-off two weeks ago. Since then he has built TechIMO. TechIMO's official launch was yesterday. We informed everyone of this and the ppl began to come over. internet.com began to censor our advertisement and started deleting posts and such. This ticked ppl off and they left. internet.com deleted mntsnow and socalgal from the member lists. They DELETED THEIR ACCOUNTS. They took away al the moderators' priveledges (I was a mod here and am now a mod at techimo.) The whole staff moved to TechIMO and Gus is the only one running the show. he runs several sites, hence why they are all in decline. ...too much work to do a good job.

D) Socalgal is at TechIMO as a Trollhunter of course. She has made her last post at Sysopt. She posted in a thread here that she was done. I am sticking around as a lurker (posting alot int he past few days to get the word out of what happened) cuz there's alot of great info here.


Sysopt lives on undera adifferent name. The place doesn't matter, the community and those involved does. Scott has bigger and better plans for TechIMO since he is not stiffled by internet.com.
