Hi,

I have recently been made into a NT Administrator. However, I am actually a systems programmer and know next to nothing about NT. I've been looking around on the internet for a solution to my current problem, but I'm not having much luck.

I am looking for a backup solution. The sites that need to get backed up won't have any kind of administrator to look after the system, and so I have the following requirements:

* It has to be extremely easy to use in the first place, and it should be able to be scheduled and then forgotten about.

* It has to be able to backup onto another machine rather than onto a tape or other media, as we feel that it would be more reliable than having someone maintain the tapes.

* There will be at least 20-40GB of data to backup every night so it has to be fast.

* It will have to be able to be supported in the UK.

If any of you know of a solution anything like this, or another solution, then I would really appreciate if you could tell me about it.

Cheers,

Nick

Computer Associates. ArcServeIT for NT. or you can buy the Upgrade of the Veritas software (seagate) Who's stripped down version is built-in to NT. Both could do what you are wanting to do. As for backing up to another system thats not a problem as long as the drive is mapped to the server.
