Ok. I made the mistake of buying an asus video card and abit mb.

I am driving two identical LCD panels in Win2k sr2 (analogue)

All is fine except in dual monitor mode at 2x1280x1024. The supplied drivers didn't work at all in this mode (the monitors skipped a line for each displayed line), so I updated them with other asus drivers for the standard V7100. In general they work.

Now I occassionally get screens going blank. This can be semi-forced by going into the windows shutdown screen, when large black streaky lines flash horizontally across both monitors and then sometimes the monitors blank out. It gets much worse moving from 60Hz to 75 Hz. The problem also occurred on one CRT I tried it on. It has not yet occurred at any other resolution or when set to 1 monitor

Have tried every asus/geforce driver I could get my hands on to no avail. Have tried many bios settings to no avail. Changing the driving strength might have helped a bit but I'm not entirely sure.

I am aware of the power problems that abit/asus combos have. Is this related to that? The streaks do go horiz across both monitors even if they are set to different refresh rates: I don't know at what stage in the electronics the two video streams are separated, but the problem lies before then. Or is a driver problem more likely?

I really need a dual lcd setup (I've bought the monitors!), and although I have mainly 2d requirements, I would like to have reasonable 3d accel, hence would prefer geforce to matrox. I also want linux drivers to be available=no radeon.

If my combo is a dead loss, would moving to the elsa equivalent board make any difference, or are they basically a name change and nothing else?

Any advice would be most welcome. And anyone else wanting to pursue my admittedly rather rare combo, beware...

Thanks in advance
