<IMG SRC="http://www.geocities.com/nwo2010/Capture_1.gif" border=0>
i think it has something to do with my hard drive but I'm not sure.and if it is I have tried loading the drivers on the floppy that came with my hard drive, but it wont let me load them because the floppy if 4 win 95 it says win 98 should find the drivers its self

WEll since you didnt give us any info like what motherboard you have http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif The PCI mass storage controller is either an ATA66/100 interface or a SCSI interface that has not had the correct drivers installed yet. Tell us what motherboard you have and weither or not you have any add-on controller cards such as a SCSI card or cards like the Promise technology Ultra66/100cards or Raid cards.

crockett - crop the pic to the border of the dialog box; that screenshot of the whole desktop is a frame-blower and increases thread loadtime.

Thanks!

I think that it has to do with the motherboard IDE. Have you noticed a problem with your CD-ROM being recognized or running in MS-DOS compatibility mode? Remove these two entries and load the drivers from the disk that came with your mobo. If you don't have a driver disk, download them from the manufacturer's website.

yea as a matter of fact I did have a lot of problems with my cd rom being recognized(that was the problem that led me 2 SysOpt http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif )and this problem has been going on every since I just forgot about it,because its not as noticeable as your cd rom not working...btw I have tried to load the drivers from the cd that came with my mobo...but they only work if you have win95 or lower..it says win98 should recognize the drivers its self

I would check at the motherboard manufacturer's website to see if they have an updated set of drivers. Apparently Win98 didn't do as good a job as they thought...

try this click on the driver detail and click on the driver tab. click on search for driver. then click update driver. since it looks like your running above win95 it should bring up a list of places on where you want to update it from. put a check on Microsoft update. (make sure your online http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif) and maybe they will have on the site. no guarantees tho
