And I have 2 very simple questions:
1) I made a stupid mistake when I installed Win2K and the default user is an administrator that doesn't exist. This means that, as a home pc, I have to cancel this each time and type in my own name. I can't find an easy way around this and the 'knowledge' base is no help at all. The so called adminsitrator has admin privilieges, as do I. I wonder who he is. How do I get rid of him?
2) I changed the boot.ini file because I had more 3 Win2K installations and I wanted one That's fine, but on startup I am now presented with 2 options - to load Win2K Professional, or to load Win2K (default). As an experiment I loaded the default, and it was 10 times as fast as I was used to but it had no drivers or applications. How do I get rid of the default option, and even more interesting how do I make my own installation as fast as the 'default' one whilst keeping all my necessary applications?
PS Norton Utilities is about as much use to me as the friend who once adivsed me to get rid of all those EXE files because they were taking up too much space.
I have a 1.2ghx processor, 256mb PC133 RAM and a girlfriend who wishes I would spend more time away from the computer.
