Hello-

I'm not exactly "the source" to go to on serious cooling- but I recommend a case fan sucking air in and a case fan blowing air out. Try to put them as far away from eachother as possible, and try to have their path cross the components. I mean like, put one in the front bottom and the other on the back top. That way the airflow's general direction is diagonally across your MB and components.

That's about all I know, sorry.

I know you need a good fan and heat sink for the processor especially fo O/Cin'. but do i really need a fan for agp/pci/isa slots? or hard drives???

i dont keep my computer on 24/7 but i will be overclocking my duron 600 to around 800.

Make sure that the ones that blow air out, are located in the top of the Case (hot air rises), and the intake in the bottom (coolest air is at your feet)

Hope this helps a bit!

May be a bit extreme but I cut a blowhole int he side of my case that blows air directly over the AGP. I have one next to it that blows over the fan/HS. Seems to have helped lower temps about 3-4 C on case temp and about the same on CPU temp.
Dave

I also have an 80mm fan at the bottom front, and one in the back under the PS in the built in fan slots. 3 bolwing in, 1 blowing out (and then the PS sucking air out as well)

Yeah, you have one or two at the bottom blowing cool air in, but then I reckon it is good to have one fan mid-way up your case, and point it upwards, to help blow the hot air up to the top. Then I reckon it is good to have one fan blowing out at the top/back, and another fan or set of fans blowing hot air out of one of yer h/d bays.

I think it is also good to have a fan blowing across the AGP card, especially if you overclock yer card like I do.

I've heard it's best to have more blowing in than out to keep positive case pressure. I think it's mainly to keep dust out, not for cooling. Does anybody have an opinion on this?

ok thx alot
i will definetly need one near the hdd, i can feel the hdd heating up.

But wouldn't that also blow in dust? What I've heard is that you don't have to have any fans sucking in air, the air being sucked out will automatically suck in air. I also heard that you get better cooling when you have fans to blow out air Vs. blow in air. Any opinions on this?

If you only have air blowing out, you will create a vacume. This would cause you to suck air into your case through the drives. This presents a problem because then they get all dusty.

I have 90mm Fan that blows from the from lower part of my case and a 5.25" external Twin 92mm Bay Fans that blows air out and also another 90mm Fan at the top back of the case to blow out air. Another effective cooling method for me was to place a 80mm fan that blows directly to my dual CPU's.

NDC,when you have a good airstream, dust won't get the chance to 'fall' on your hardware.I have an 8cm fan in the front, and an 8cm fan in the top.To put one in the top I made a big round hole.I also have 3 fans on my processor (PII-300,currently @ 513) with big heatsink:1 6cm fan and 2 5cm fans (one 4700rpm and the other 5700rpm).I also have a high 5cm fan (6700rpm) on my videocard.

I am still working on making my system look more extreme (it looks sooo cool with that chrome roster and the fan underneath it in the top).I will add to 6 cm fans (with those chrome rosters) in the left panel and switches in the front of the case to turn the fans on/off.It's nice all those fans, but it makes a lot of noise. And it would be handle to turn a couple of fans off when I don't use my comp. or I am not using it at 100% load.

I love my case for so far with my modifications,I think I'll use it for at least the next 2 years (I only have it for a couple of months yet).

ok i will have a duel fan blowing air from the bottom to the top, fan blowing towards my slots (mostly on the agp) and out through the open slot thingys, fan on my hdd bay, and a huge one blowing it out from the top towards me ps. does a ps already have a fan inside?

maybe i should pull up a regular size room fan and keep my tower open at all times. heh

how about an airconditioner? i wish

did you connect all the fans with a 4 pin to 3 pin adapters connected directly from your ps?

I have 3 fans on my main board (the 5cm's) and for the rest I opened up a powerconnector for 1.44 drives and connected all the red wires of the fans with the yellow wire, and the black with the black. After that I used a lot of tape around it to make sure I wouldn't create a shortcircuit.I want to replace this with a better system in a while, but it will do for now.
