went too the Keys

well I just went to the Keys.. was pretty nice. I didn't get to look around a lot this trip because I was helpin my mother move there. I will get to go back, hope I can get in trouble on one of my later journeys.

Couple of things I saw that were pretty cool besides the Islands and cool looking water

1) gas was only $1.23 a gal (couldn't belive it was that cheep there)
2) in the phone book under internet supliers they had a company adverstising T-1 lines for under $300 a month.
3) I drove past an air port and there were 2 of the small jets that are used as chase planes for the shuttle with signs on them saying "You can fly me" (I think I will follow up on that for sure )
4) there wre lizards as big as a cat, no lie they were iguana's .they would come out of the woods and run along the concrete docks behind the apt my mom moved into

the best thing I heard is that to be considered a native, you have to have a girl that works 2 jobs while you stay home... Im going to look into that one for sure :D

We used to go down there on all night/weekend fishing trips. Hmmm now that I think about it we ended up many at many places fishing all night in Fla. I remember waking up one morning on Sanibel Island my rod next to me my wondering where I was. Those were the days, before children!

I spent a lot of time fishing and camping on those islands and there are some great people there. You just don't find people like that everywhere. Key West has quite a few gays but most cities do. I guess everyone from your part of Ga is an ignorant homophobic hick then, right? I guess I am a homo too since I spent quite a bit of time on all those islands. I will tell you one thing the keys are excellent for, drinking binges! ;)

I was stationed "sentenced" in the Keys for 2 years. NAS Key West, Boca Chica key.

I was young and I loved going downtown. Dirty Harry's, Sloppy Joe's, The Green Parrot, etc.

Ya knew not to be going to the Monster or La Te Da. You knew not to walk on the "queer pier"............Yeah, they had a pier known for homosexual liasons. :rolleyes: Very few homosexuals will ever bother a straight person, yas not there type. Therefore I never bothered them. Live and let live. Stay away.

To deny Key West has a much higher than average level of homosexual activity than "most" cities is like saying Key West doesn't have a much higher Cuban population than average. ;) The Mariel boatlift was fiction also. :D
