Notebooks - where to find a good one???

I'm looking for a good notebook to get. I'm looking for a relieble, problem free machine.

Spec. and recommendation are very welcome. I'm leaning toward these choises Dell, Toshiba, or Gateway (ick).

On notebooks, I'm kindof at a loss.
