Please help.. I got an essay for my AP english due tomorrow on this.

The theme is Even well-meaning deceptions and secrets can lead to destruction.

I have to write a critical essay explaining how what happens to the characters relates to this theme.

I "read" it....... www.sparknotes.com :D

The commentary might be able to help you out. Sorry, I did this in school one year ago and frankly can barely remember the basic story line (seriously). Perhaps try looking up some opinions online.

There's also www.novelguide.com although I haven't used that much because Sparknotes usually does the job.

Glad I could help;)

WOW!! You must go to a tough school where they give you home work on Sunday morning and expect it in on MONDAY!!!!

Go to Blockbuster and get the Movie. With Demi Moore. The moral themes from the book carry through to the movie. It will be easy to smooze up a paper outline while you watch the movie.

Surreal, I know:D I actually got the assignment on friday, but I had to write a report and read another book for another class that is due on tuesday. (my life sucks right now).
:(
I actually read the book it is just hard to folmulate the essay. English is not my first language and I hate writing. I am a computer and math whiz, but not when it comes to literature. This essay is supposed to be 3 pages. how is it possible to write 3 pages about a topic like this????

One word: BS
(ok, two words)

You are talking to the master. After I'm finished, I don't even know what I just wrote:D. May not get me an A+ every time, but usually a B. Write something.

I always wait until Sunday to do essays due on Monday;)

Here is a winning essay formula. Pick 4-5 main points. Write one to two paragraphs on each. Have a 3-4 line intro, and a 4-5 line concluding paragraph. That should come bout to about 3 pages, if you make your body paragraphs long enough.

How do you do that? Use plenty of analogies, teachers love it. For instance, make a paragraph comparing how adultery was treated in those times compared to today. That alone could be 2-3 paragraphs. Also, go into character development. There are at least 3 characters that endure changes in that book. Explain how each started with well meaning intentions, but how each changed during the course. Thirdly, look at it from a macro level. You could throw in a paragraph on how their local society changed as a result of her affair. Explain how women aquired more rights as time passed due to the religious and moral changes in America as the nation grew.

I am good at this stuff, I could go on and on and on. :D

Thanks all. I took some ideas of everybody, especially your BS idea Wart:D .

What i wrote is some quality work. It might not be on the subject, but she can't say that I didn't write three pages.

EDIT- next week on "Help Lost-and-found pass English" Book report on "The mill on the floss":D (it is due next monday and I am about half way with the book)

Length is what they see first. At the very least, make sure it is the required length (good job;).
