Whoa! When I saw an AT socket A motherboard (the PCChips M812LMR) I thought I'd seen it all. But now I find out that there are DUAL Pentium AT motherboards! I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy these. I found where to buy one, but I want to see the others, before I buy. So refer some others to me, and sites where to buy them, because I am going to have fun with this one! :D

I've seen some Tyan ones that were donated to my school. They really were about as good as you can expect from these boards: some PCI, some ISA, 8 SIMM slots, supporting up to an intel 233MMX (apparently the K6 line didn't do SMP). I think it was a 430HX, since that was the "server" chipset for socket 7.

On the down side, I played with a REALLY old dual-socket-5 pre-plug-and-play that had about a square inch of jumpers to set IRQs for each of the PCI slots. I can't imagine setting all of those jumpers! It had a busted keyboard connector (probably just a fuse), but since we didn't really need it anyway I think I recall it meeting an untimely demise :D

I'd check ebay. I doubt any stores would carry anything this old (~'96-97)

The one that I saw was a Tyan. A Tyan Tomcat IVD S1564D. I think I will by it for my AT server case. I was going to buy the PCChips M812LMR, but I heard that it runs much slower than other Socket A boards. And isn't very stable. So I will get the dualie instead.

I went ahead and ordered the Tyan Tomcat IVD. It looks really nice. It has 5 ISA, 4 PCI (1 shared ISA, PCI slot), 8 memory slots, and I heard the board is a really high end board, at least for AT cases, even though it only supports up to 233 MHz. But maybe I could use some Kingston or Evergreen 400 MHz upgrade processors.
