A buddy of mine has me looking for a good deal on a 19" monitor to replace his that slowly faded to black this AM. Been to pricewatch already....any one feel like finding us a real deal? He doesn't need anything fancy. He doesn't game a whole lot or watch and DVD's or stuff...just a general purpose monitor with a decent warranty.

You're just a couple of days late, look down the list a bit..

The best deal I could conjur up is a Viewsonic Optiquest Q95-2 19"

The specs look good->

refresh rate of 80Hz at 1,280 x 1,024 resolution
fine 0.23mm horizontal dot pitch

small too->

"desk space will be saved with the Q95 because of dimensions that are only slightly bigger than a conventional 17" "

If you have an Office Depot near you, they have a Philips 19" for $179 after rebate advertised in tomorrow's paper.

If you keep your eyes open, CompUSA has a generic 19" that they sell for $150 every once in a while, but not this week.
