I am looking to build a pc sometime in the near future and I need some guidance on what mobo I should be looking at. I figure this is the most important thing since it will determine how far I will be able to upgrade in the future ( I am not planning on OC'ing it ). It needs to be reliable. It's main use will be for graphic design ( Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash ) and also some gaming ( Everquest, Diablo II ). Basically I need ideas on what will work well and maybe what I am overlooking here.

It needs to support::

( Not sure if it will run Win2k or if I'll wait for XP to get through its first few months )

1 - AMD 1Ghz +
2 - ATA 100
3 - 1GB + of PC2100 DDR ( 266 FSB )
4 - 4x AGP
5 - If possible, I want to avoid integrated audio & ethernet

Other things I am thinking about installing:

1 - Plextor 16x CD-RW
2 - Maxtor 60GB + , ATA 100
3 - Ethernet Card for home LAN
4 - SB Live!
5 - some flavor of Nvidia card w/ 32MB RAM

Does this look like a good setup for my use? What kind of price range am I looking at? If there are good deals on a mobo/cpu/case type thing, I would be up for that too.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions at all :) :)

I've used Iwill motherboards since I switched over from Intel to AMD. I've used 3 different boards, 2 different models, but all use SDRAM. Iwill is known for its stability. And Iwill puts out a DDR board that has received very good reviews. In fact, Iwill may have been the first to market a DDR board, but I'm not positive.

Take a look at: http://www.iwill.net/

I've never been disappointed with the product or tech support.

Good luck.
