I have a western digital hard drive that worked before but now shows up as not formated in Windows explorer (both Windwos 2k and 98). Now all I use is Windows 2000. I tried the data lifeguard tools to retore track 0 and that didin't work. I dont want to format the drive because there is about 30GB of data on there that is very important. I know that the drive has not been formatted and I have heard that even if it was there are ways of getting back your data.

So I was wondering if anyone could help me get back my data on the hard drive. Its a 60GB Western Digital Hard drive.

I had posted about this about 4 months ago but i haven't done anything to the drive in that time. It's jest been sitting there in the room, not being used by any computers.

There was a computer tech at my former job that said that i could try repairing the FAT table but i have yet to try that. I also tried using Lost and Found to get my data back but for some reason when i select the source drive, i can no longer select the destination drive because i no longer have the option to.

I hope someone can help me on this.

THanks
