My father just bought a new Dell computer and it came with a 16X burner. I would like to know which cd-r would be best for burning at this speed.
1.5 Ghz
16X burner
Dell 8100 series
WinME
Roxio Cd Creator 5
THX

I'm quite partial to the TDK brand. They have a nice look and I haven't had a bad one yet. If you keep your eyes open you can find some great bargins on them. For example I bought mine at Costco for 50 at $25 US and had a rebate for $20. Course this was at the beggining of the summer before the blanks went up in price.
The reason you might not be able to burn at 16 might be the system not the blanks. I have found that if I have little or nothing extra running while burning I will be sucessful 99.9999% of the time. Since it only takes a few minutes to burn, I can easily take a bathroom break or read something while it's burning. A quick game of Freecell is not too cpu intensive.;)
Good luck.
