Hi all .. .
Could i make a data CD-ROM and whenever i use it on any PC it prompts for a password to be able to access the data on it...
I want to know that coz i have to send a very important data to my friend and i`m so worried about being lost or copied ...
Is doing so possible?..
Thanx in advance ...

Well, I don't know if any burning software does this for you, but you can at least do it with WinZip. Create a Zip archive and set a password before you add any files to it. You might want to include the winzip installer program on the cd too just in case the other computers don't have winzip. When anyone tries to view or extract the files, it will ask for the password. No password, no file. :D

There are several ways to do it on factory disks, some do not even read directories in Windows. You may want to try encrypting with a PGP program prior to burning and send the key separately, as this would probably be the easiest consumer method.

Use Winzip. It comes as shareware, but for the most part is still full-featured. It only really bugs you to pony up the dough and register.
