I download the new version of Windows Media Player 7.1(based on XP technology). Anyway since then I had to reformat my HD, but not before I copied a CD with the Windows Media Player. Now, I can't play any of the music that I recorded with WMP because of the License feature they added. Does anyone know how to get aroud that?......F... MS

7.1 sucks, it's NOT based on XP either. XP comes with media player 8.0

I have xp installed, i just checked, it's 8.0

I've actually reverted to Media Player 6.4. Is it my imagination, or does it not play all mp3's. Either that or some of my fles have become corrupted.

Back to the Tech. W2K comes with MP8 which includes an MP3 player.
Had the misfortune to have to install Real Player yesterday.
Ugly, Tick here, if you want us to take over your system. Err NO!
Sheesh! This aggressive nonsense is plain annoying.

Installed the Divx codec yesterday as well, it shows much better manners.

BTW: Bill's plan to not sell, but lease to you, an OS, is based on the successful model used by IBM forever. Read some history and you'll see why it worked so well. It ain't nothing new!

This is why I am sticking to Win98se.

And if Linux wasn't so hard to understand I would have probably swaped OS a long time ago.

W2K comes with MP8

media player 6.4 comes with Win2k. media player 8 comes with Xp

well if you had ME I could give you wonderful news because I just happen to have the codes to bypass the check.

was when i lost the drives and well the one i'm using already had 98 on it but from different system and finally had to reformat but me wouldn't do install well yal know where that goes anyway after using the 98 cd, 95 cd even the umteen disk and going back to 3.11 and every other microsoft program... doesnt say has to be operating system just one of their programs...

anyway after days of frustration the techs gave me a key or sn to enter instead of one on cd's 1st one didn't work cuz it was for the full version and gave me another one for the upgrade or step up version...worked like a charm

unfortunately I am hating winMe all except that spider solitaire game lol

anyway so I make a point here and yal dont think me a useless poster....call ms panic stricken mode might help ...lol only because thats state i was in. but ask them to help you and get a bypass code they don't spread that info out [as told] but duh like someone wouldn't find one. if you have any registered software with them that they can look up they can see that your a reg user and they have to find you solutions. i was shocked and did have to go thru explainging to various techs to get there.
lol but its worth a try
