My dad wanted me to ask you guys this.

His computer won't remember his Dial Ip password. Each time he wants to get online, he has to enter it.

It started after he was playing around with the Windows password Login feature. After he disabled it, the dial up password started not to show up.

Can he just delete Dial Up Networking and put it back in from the Win98 cd?

Any other solutions?

Thanks!

Right click on network neighborhood, select properties. See if client for microsoft networks is listed. If it is not then click on add, click client, click microsoft and select client for microsoft networks. Click on OK.

Make sure that client for microsoft networks is selected as the primary network logon. Then reboot. This should take care of it.

Thanks for the responses guys, but it's already selected on his computer!

What should he do?

first of all, is he connecting successfully? i'm guessing so, but it won't save any info if it's not working. secondly, is save password available or greyed out? if it's available and not working it's a corrupt .pwl file.

go to find-> files or folders. search for *.pwl on the c: drive, and delete everything thats in the windows directory. log off/log back on to windows... don't set a password, don't cancel the windows login, just click OK which you may have to do twice.

if that's the case it will work.
