I put together my KT7-Raid and Duron 600 this weekend. This is my first attempt at putting together a PC from scratch!! It went smooth as silk. Only problem I had was it wouldn't recognize my HD. I have a KT7 FAQ that I printed before I did this and it had a heading that said: "If you HD is not recognized do this:"

Fixed it and now it is flying!! It makes my old K6-2 400 look like a snail. I haven't tried to OC it yet, but a buddy of mine has already got his up to 800!

This was a great experience and I can't wait to tweak it some more. The only problem is that I won't be able to until sometime next week. I am in the process of moving and it is sitting at my parents, plus I'm going out of town this week for work.

Anyone going to be at the VBITS conference in Orlando? Hopefully I can get in and out between the 2 hurricanes.

My complete system:

ABIT KT7-Raid
Duron 600
128MB generic PC100 RAM
Diamond TNT
Diamond MX300
WD 8.4 GB 5400 HD
40X CDRom
2x2x6 CDRW

Right now my old box is sitting in tatters in the corner. I plan on rebuilding it and giving it to my sister as a internet surfing box. In order to do that I need to replace the components that I took from it.

My upgrade plans are as follows, but I'm not sure about the priority:

1. IBM ATA100 Deskstar 30GB HD
2. Hercules GeForce MX
3. Pioneer 16x DVD
4. Microsoft Optical Mouse

I need to do all this by Christmas if I'm going to give the K6-2 to my sister. I would think that the HD and the DVD are the most important. That way I can put the CDRom and the WD HD back into my old box.

Congrats. Sounds like you have a pretty sweet system. I think you sister will be happy.
