hey, I'm sure someone out there knows what I am doing wrong...

I wanted to make a file available for download from my site so I just put it in the same folder as my download.html file and then linked the html file to the file to be downloaded... is this at all the right way to do this?

I am using Dreamweaver 3 and when I preview in IE it works fine.. then when I upload it I get a page that tells me I am not authorized to view.. I am really confused. I should be able to do this right?

This is my first site and I have managed to find out how to do everything else that I wanted to do but this... any suggestions at all are very welcome!

My Home Page:
http://home.adelphia.net/~rponzio

This is the actual page that links to the file I am talking about:
http://home.adelphia.net/~rponzio/download/download.html

thanks in advance http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

let me know what you think http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

In your download link, you have "http://home.adelphia.net/download/DeCSS.zip" instead of "http://home.adelphia.net/~rponzio/download/DeCSS.zip"

(Missing the ~rponzio)

oops! I forgot that I used that file as an example... thats not the one thats supposed to be in there, .. I will fix shortly!

I threw in that file cuz I was wondering if it mattered what file extension it was..

ok,... I changed the link to include the correct path but I still get a blank page and not the download window...

any other suggestions?
