Im checking out a on line phone thingy. have a 1/2 duplex board, earphones work fine, but cant get responce from mike,(pluged in to mike jack on audio card.) how do I check it. every thing on audio panel (midi etc.) is checked and vol at max. bad mike? or settings? want to find out if worthwhile before I buy a better card. also noticed that the card specs.on cards dont say if full duplex.

If you go into the sounds tab in your control panel there is a test feature for your mic...what soundcard are you using?...

My experience with full to half duplex is that with full, you can talk over each other like a phone, without, its like a CB radio, gotta make sure the person has quit speaking which is sorta difficult, if you really wanna do it without probs get a duplex card... are ya using Dialpad? killer phone solution...

Look at the Creative Soundblaster Live Value, cant beat its performance to cost ratio...(about 45$)

guess I screwed up couldn't find the creative card, so bought a digital research drsound. easy to install just P&P oh yeah! the card is not DR but crystal?? fought with the POS for hours, win found it but could not find driver either in win or the CD that came with it, no sound at all. one of the chips on it gets too hot to hold on too. stuck the old aztek back in and sound OK again. this POS going back will keep looking for the creative card.
