I'm so excited, and I can't hide it. I'm about to loose control and I think I like it!
okay, an overstatement...but I've been with this p2 @ 309 and 5400rpm WD for too long now.

Congrats on the upgrade and good luck on unlocking it i hop[e to see you in the Gig club soon
well, I'll be running the stock hsf for a little while...if I can ever get it on, those clips are stiff.
But after a upgrade that, I hope it'll crack the big 1
have fun i got my slot a tbird 750 running at 1100 with stock cooling all i did was remove the thermal tap and put some paste in there and right out of the box set it to 10 x 110 mhz fsb and it booted right into windows without a reinstall i found it all upgraded from k62 550
I was going to take the pad off and put some thermal grease instead, but the hs surface is quite rough, and I don't want to deform the surface of the chip(if that's possible), so, I'll either lap the hsf at a later date or get an aftermarket one.
I'm planning to spend some time at 700
so have you got it up and running yet
well, kind of.
I can't get the floppy running, which I need for the harddrive, and windows re-install
I might have to start a thread in tech support.
ha, also I made a mistake and set the fsb to 111MHz (750MHz) and it's running. But that was stupid of me.
back to the trenches

There see- overclocking already, Keep it up man! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
The floppy may be as simple as the wire not connected right, or bios setup. Fussy things http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

I have a Tbird 750 @ 1.05Ghz
If I set it to 9.5x111 (1055Mhz), It'll run completely stable, except during defrag (wierd huh?). If it set it to 10.0x105 (1050Mhz), It'll always run completely stable. The weird part is that the CPU temp. w/ a Alpha 6035, tops out at 40C @ 10x105, but at 9.5x111, it tops out around 49C. Voltages are all the same. Thats a huge difference for just 5Mhz on the CPU.
Thats AMAZING for default cooling
I'm haveing huge troubles, I feel like a newbie. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
I'm back on the p2b/p2
Ok, the thing wont post at anything but 750, the manual is saying the setting for the duron 700 is 8*100, when I try to set it for jumperless, it's not posting, when I flip the power switch in the back it starts for 2 seconds, then goes off, then I can hit the case power button to start up.
ARG.
oh, and still haven't gotten the floppy working.

Sorry to hear about the problems, seti. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
Everyone, please post help replies to seti's link above in Tech Support (not in this thread) to keep troubleshooting path from getting mixed up.
Thanks.
Good luck with it, seti.
