What kinda memory is the best? What brand? I would like 128MB PC-100 DIMM, with ECC would be nice and the cheapest place to get. I buildin a computer for someone.

Are they any good? Warthog 09-16-2000, 01:52 PM I've heard good things about Micron. But Crucial is the way to go. I just bought some. It's the best. Warthog cynik 09-16-2000, 03:17 PM Crucial is the way to go http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I recently got a 256 meg stick of pc133 cl2 crucial and it performs beautifully (on A7V w/ 700 Tbird) Btw - Crucial is actually just Micron chips on Micron pcb put together by ... you guessed it! Micron. Other Micron memory sticks (ie anything that isn't Crucial) are Micron chips put together by someone else using non-Micron pcb. Not to say that it isn't good (Corsair, for example, makes excellent Micron memory). The downside is that (in my experience anyway) Crucial tends to be one of the most expensive options out there. Worth it though. I've heard great things about Mushkin as well (Infineon chips /me thinks), but I've never actually seen a system with Mushkin memory. Anyway, I'd still go for the Crucial http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Regards cynik Dave2 09-17-2000, 12:12 AM Crucial. Crucial is compatable with just about every motherboard and its good quality memory. Their prices are good too. SysOpt.com
