How come buy.com doesn't advertise their coupons on their website (or do they, I can never find them)? And why do their coupons disappear before they expire.

I had a coupon yesterday at:
http://www.us.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp?prid=80359233

This coupon was for $30 off any purchase of $150 or more and at the bottom it said it didn't expire until 9/18. They also had free shipping for Tuesday and Wednesday. I posted a link PC Steal and Deal for 128MB Crucial memory for $124 after the coupon.

I like this company. I've bought over $700 worth of stuff from them over the last year and half and never had a problem. I just find this odd.

That's where I went originally, but it was gone. The coupon said it didn't expire until 9/18.

I emailed them, but guess what? It displayed a message saying they were upgrading their email system. I sent it to the webmaster. I wonder if that will do any good.

howste,

I thought you da man again, but the link doesn't work anymore (what a URL, btw).

I'll post when (oops, if) they get back to me.

Try www.fightdivx.com (http://www.fightdivx.com) and select coupons, they have a lot of great deals.

qball - you might as well give up on the email & call them on the phone.

They really do have live 24/7 phones! I've had to call them a couple times, & have always gotten someone quickly & easily. But they have told me to call for best service, as their email system is always behind.

I just checked the link I posted above and it still works for me. But, I noticed it's only for new customers anyway. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif Oh well, they come up pretty often I think.

Did you contact their customer support?

I saw the coupon yesterday and thought of using it, is it gone?

I also use egghead and have had problems (not their fault, mine). Anyway, I contacted customer support and mentioned 'what a great customer I am and iffin you don't do right by me there is enough competition out there that I may not even use your service'. I ultimately got what I needed.

Wait, I'm gonna email them this evening and ask what did happen? Post back tomorrow.

For a little fun, try;
http://www.us.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp

It generates an error, which is in no way handled gracefully.

howste,

The links are tied to cookie info. Anyway, just use the coupon sites, they seem to keepup to date.

Ed,

I'd call 'em if I really had a problem, disappearing coupons just seems a little cheezy. Also, who knows, maybe someone will screw up ans send me a $300 coupon.
