got a pile of fujifilm cdr 700mb 80 min compact disc recordable discs. tried burning, but cd player in home and in car wont play the recorded discs. followed instructions with nero, but still nogo. read somewhere that certain discs may be needed for older cd players to read burnt discs,or ????? thanks
It does seem that older CD playback units may be a bit picky about the type of disc (usually color) that is used. Newer playbacks seem to do OK with anything.

I've had excellent success with Fuji blanks. I've burned maybe 200 without problem and they play on EVERYTHING i've tried them on.
The net is alive with stories about players that won't play this type of blank or that...
My brother is still using my FIRST CD player. This second generation Technics is nearly 20 years old and it has played everything I've burned (Verbatim, generic blue-bottoms, Fuji, TDK, Maxell, Memorex, PNY, etc....EXCEPT for some CompUSA branded discs I bought early in the game.)
I'm concerned, Draboo, that you may still be having problems using your burner software. See if you can find a knowledgeable friend locally to burn one on your system and then see how it works. And there is always the possibility of a problem with the burner...
Good luck!

to me.. any CDR brand is pretty good.. its the burner thats messed up
ive tried several brands such as
TDK
Sony
Fujitsu
Zeus
and several others
i think you get the most out of zeus because the price is so low but that also means a small cutback of around 50mb or 6min on each CD
if you dont want to sacrafice space on each cd, get tdk

I have used the Fuji's with great success. But then again, I also use the cheapest ones I can find and they work fine on my Plextor 12/10/32A. Not had a single coaster since I have had the drive. Probably a 100+ burns. I burn mostly music and Data.
