Does anyone know what benefit the 3Com telephony modem has over the Conexant Telephony modem? The price difference is 36 dollars US.

I noticed that 3COM chip modems are much more expensive compared to other modems, but to be honest with ya, I haven't seen any significant advantages over cheapo 56k modems as for speed to spend the extra bucks for 3COM modems. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

FYI, don't look for any support for your 3com modem. They quit making them about 3 months ago, and are no longer in the consumer modem biz.
Want a good (I mean REALLY good) telephony modem, get the Multitech PCI hard, based on the Lucent Venus chipset.
I have one for sale, open to offers, new, email me.

I dont use a dialup connection myself but I did see a test of several modems...cant find the link but it was by this guy:

"My current favourite is the Diamond Supra Express, either internal (ISA) or the external.
Get one with 56,000 bits per second (56Kbps) data transfer rate (speed)."
