I'll be hornswaggled! I tried to put a mouse driver disk in my a: drive and the dern thing didn't work!! After cracking the case open I discovered that the data cable was firmly in place but the power plug was hanging free in the wind. I replaced the power to the drve and it made no difference. Could I have blown the drive or the floppy controller? I have triple checked all the connections and they are all firm. I even messed with the bios settings some and it still does not work. This drive worked great a few months ago (which is the last time I needed it). I even remember removing my dvd-rom and that's probably when it got unplugged. Hope I don't have to run my start-up disk anytime soon. Wish I had another drive, which I usually do, laying around here to test it with. Anyone have any suggestions?

if your sure you cables are totally correct just buy a new one.
they DO break down.

www.pricewatch.com is a great place to shop for parts.
plus the local computer stores wont be much more either. its not worth pulling your hair out (if applicable hehe)
its just worth the 10 bux to get a new one. i always have a spare laying around just incase. just my 1 1/2 cent ;)
