Computers burn my eyes :(

Ok my eyes are screwed up enough...I've worn contacts since I was 11 and they still getting more near-sighted :) Altho its almost stopped. hehe...Anyway, my eyes are pretty sensative and after long usage of the computer my eyes are freakin strained. (my monitor is at 85hz too just for those thinking its at a bad refresh). I've heard of computer glasses and supposedly my doctor says they are pretty helpful (my mom said her doctor said they were good...I haven't been told personally). Anyone here use em? If so do they work well? Any info about em would help...or if there is anything to reduce the strain on my eyes I would love to hear it...

I usually sit about 3 ft from the monitor when Im at my desk so Im not ridiculously close either :)

So any help would be greatly appreciated by not only me...but my eyes too!!!!! Thanks

I see a lot of people using them where I work. The IS department really recemends them for people who use the computer for a prolonged amount of time.

I suffer the same sensetivity with my eyes. I have to stare at the monitor all day long.

What are these computer glasses ?

Anti glare huh...hmm not a bad idea...but still at work I use a computer alot....and it hurts :( ( IT BURNS OH HOW IT BURNS!!!! :D )

Maybe a good vendor anyone?

I try to keep from letting my eyes focus on the monitor too much. That seems to help some. Plus I use the recommended method of calibrating the monitor. (I think it was that Adobe Gamma loader that got me started on it) But I turn the contrast all the way up (only works on CRT monitors obviously) and then I adjust the brightness till it looks right. It usually hangs around 50%.

BTW, Tekk, you lucky dog, you. How'd you manage to get an avatar with your post count being under 150?

Yeah me too not so much when i'm doing work just when i'm playing games. I guess 3d graphics are so good i find myself focusing my eyes 50 feet away when the monitor is 3 feet away :)
