The K7T266 Pro2 is based on the new revision of the chipset VIA KT266, the KT266Ã. the principal improvement made by VIA is at the level of the controller report with a technology called " Performance Driven Design ". This improvement consists of an increase in the mask, a reduction of the latency time and the addition of a function burst. The consequences are that the KT26Ã thus becomes the fastest chipset for the couple processors AMD and memory GDR. This card which should be very soon available in shop will be accompanied by a model with controller RAID and controller USB 2.0 ( K7T266 Pro2-RU2 ).

just curious... where'd you get that pic?

Strange that they would have the additional set of IDE channels with the RAID controller, but they would not include an AGP Pro Slot. Red's kind of a new color for MSI, isn't it?

The reason I asked is I hoped there would be some sort of a preview on the site that you found the pic on... There is but unfortunately I can't read french...

You gotta try using Babelfish to decipher things---you can enter the webpage's URL and it flip/flops the language to English---(or whatever else ya want) give it a whirl: http://babelfish.altavista.com/

This is a test of the Image that TKOP is trying to test but is hosted on my server...

Yup, that's the one, officer. The guy in the red. :p

BTW, Mntsnow, when I first clicked "Reply" it said I didn't have permission and said I needed to log in. But on the same screen, it said the current user logged in was me. Really strange. Then it said it cleared all the cookies so I could relog in, but it didn't. It just left me logged in. Overall, the servers have been really weird today, mostly sluggish and sometimes unresponsive, but that last thing was just plain strange.

:) Happened to me earlier. I clicked on the Sygate firewall article from the forums main page. After reading that, the case cooling and IDE cable rounding articles, I clicked on the forums link and was no longer logged in though my name was still on the currently active users list. I just went back to my homepage then back here and everything was back to normal.

So increase in latency and a better functional burst is all this chipset offers over the KT7266a? I like it. I can't wait to see the performance benchmarks between the two.

The benchmarks are already out for a while.

I like the Epox 8KHA+ better, Have one on order to be shipped to me on Monday, (tomorrow). Looks like the layout is better and since Epox had been the king of the hill in performance and stability, this is the way I have gone. I am not knocking your mobo, it's just I have never had the MSI brand, and not familiar with the product. For me the 8KHA+ is a cleaner layout.
