You know, I was wondering the same thing myself. I don't know if it works unless you buy the "legit" MP3's and download them. I wish I could be of help on this one, but I'd be interested in finding out if it's possible.
It's been a while since I messed with MM, but I seem to recall that you can right click on the track in your playlist and select "Edit Track Tag".
Hope that helps. Let me know...I can install it at home and help figure it out.

i know how to tag the music after i download it.
what i want to be able to do is have the artist come up after i make a cd.
when i put a cd in that i make from the downloaded mp3 music the only thing i get is track numbers and no artist or song title.
is there a setting in musicmatch that i am supposed to have checked that will tag the cd that i make?

AFAIK there is know way to do what you want. Even when you buy a CD the tracks are listed as track 1 etc.. before getting the info from CDDB.

I just checked out a program I used to use and it has a feture called "CD-TEXT burning ", this may be what you want.
MP3 CD Maker (http://www.zy2000.com/)
CD-TEXT is explained here. (http://www.cdrfaq.org/faq03.html#S3-28)
I don't think it will do what you want either, it did not for me.
