Yeah, heard that but also from www.hardocp.com there was a tidbit that Micron might be purchasing AMD... ??? What... no really... thats what they said at hardocp.

AMD is not closing down its plant in Penang Malaysia or in Singapore, maybe its just rumors, the net contains a lot of rumors since the WTC attack.I repeat AMD is not closing down its Plant in Malaysia.

it might not be malaysia, but 2 plants and 2300 jobs are leaving amd...:D

what are u smiling about....AMD is the top pick, and the main choice for CPU's in my mind. Cheap, powerful, in mass quantities!
Unfortunately, because IBM & Gateway have dropped AMD-based PC's, AMD's connections are diminishing. The question remains, will AMD live through another year?
