Hi,

I upgraded Diskeeper to version 5.03 on my W2K sp1 PC.
I noticed that since then, my PC was extremely slow during boot-up.
The HD light was on for at least 3 min and the PC was so slow that I could not even log on (on a dual PIII - RAID0 PC, that's extremely frustrating....)

Yesterday, I managed to log on quickly enough to open task manager and see that DfrgNTFS.exe was using more than 130000KB of mem (yep, that's 130MB !).

I disabled frag guard under diskeeper and this "problem" has now disappeared.

Just wandering if anyone else experienced the same problem...

Thanks

Stan

That sounds very abnormal. I use Diskeeper 5 for all my systems with Win2K and NT4 workstation on NTFS with Frag-Guard on ALL 4 drives on the same system, but never had that problem.

I wander if this is due to the RAID card... maybe diskeeper has problem working on arrays...

Wow, Stan, I wish I could help you out on this one, but I'm afraid I haven't any experience using Diskeeper with RAID cards. Just keep an eye out on this topic. I'm sure someone who does have experience on this issue could help you out. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
