i wanna know if the converting fat32 to NTFS option in the WinXP install will "overwrite" files or corrupt thema t all or will files in the fat32 be usuable once the partion is converted?:rolleyes:

I'm not 100% sure if this is the case with Windows XP, but when you would convert FAT to NTFS in NT4 and FAT(32) to NTFS5 in Windows 2000, the conversion didn't destroy currently saved data. I'm pretty sure that's how XP is also...

Once you convert to NTFS, you can not go back to FAT/FAT32 unless you use a utility such as Partition Magic.

NTFS volumns are NOT visible to FAT/FAT32/DOS machines.
