right now i have an ATX motherboard with an AT power supply (whoever invented dual connectors is gonna get it http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif). the motherboard and case were given to me, so i dont have any cables or anything that came with it, so my question is, can i power up the computer with my keyboard (ANTEC ATX or somethin like that, has a power, sleep, and wake button on it) instead of the switch on the front of the case (if i were to put an atx psu in it)?

If your using an AT powersupply, your obviously also using the AT power connector on the motherboard. You won't beable to use the ATX powerup & down features.

If you have all atx compliant hardware you can only then get all atx power features.I was trying to resolve something like your problem but I failed. You're just gonna have to find atx mobo because there is nothing better to me than scheduling my comp to turn off after a LOOONG download. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

ok, sorry if i am being confusing. i have an atx mobo...it is based on the atx form-factor, but it has an at power supply. i recieved the atx mobo in an atx case, but the only thing non-atx about it is that it has an at power supply because it has connectors for both atx and at. sorry for the confusion, and thanks for replying so far. i have school tomarrow, so i wont be on to check untill tomarrow afternoon sometime.

the question was, if i was to put an atx power supply in the case, could i use the power button on the keyboard so i dont have to try to wire a switch to the mobo to turn it on.

Yes.. As long as your Mobo has the option in the bios to allow you to power the system from the Keyboard. (Most newer ATX mobo's allow this)

Right what the man sad.You can find this option in the "Intergrated Peripheals" section of the BIOS Setup. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
