Has anyone here had any experience runing a 120mm fan off of the fan header on a mobo? Will it burn it up? If no, where can I go to get a cheap 3 pin 120mm fan?

The size of the fan attached to the fan header on the mobo makes no difference. It is the current drawn by the fan motor that could be too much power (amps) that could damage the circuit traces on a board. If you can determine what amount of current in amps, watts, ect the board is designed to handle, then the fan motor power in watts or amps can be decided on whether it will be too much or not. Sence you apparently do not have both of these parameters handy, there is no way to answer the question with certanity.

You are just getting the fans rpm monitored. Just hook the fan into a 5 plug-in. You will see in some of the other post's. that it is recomended not to use the fan header for reliabilty's sake. Expecially when you are using Big Fast Fans.

You can buy power supply adapters that will allow your to connect the fan to the standard 4 pin connectors...
