Assuming that one has a running system thats been used for a while (the time varies depending on the person and how much the computer's been used), how does one know when to re-install Windows 98?

When it gets to where it has slowed down too much and/or is experiencing an unacceptable occurrence of errors.

I used to reinstall windows as soon as one of my program starts bugging out on me and can't solve the problem by re-installing the software, or reconfiguring. But it would only take me about 20 minutes to reinstall Win98 and all the programs that were installed because I made a clone copy of Win98 and all programs on a mobile disk as soon as I did a fresh install of everything with Norton Ghost. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I hated that illegal blah blah blah BS! I dumped Win98 a long time ago because I don't play much games. I was geting fed up with reinstalling every other month.

Now currently runnning Win2000 and Win NT4 on two differnt systems, and I never have those problems. Geez, I haven't had to reinstall them for quite some time now. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Miss all the fun you say! LOL http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif yeah, I could put with reinstalling the OS, but reinstalling all the software and setting the OS to my liking is the worst part. That seems to be the most time consuming part! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
