Does anyone know how to convert pdf files to a format compatible with office 2000?

I think that the Adobe Acrobat software (not the one that is free, but the one that you have to buy) will di it for you. I don't know of any free way to do this, but someone else might.

Why do you need to convert it? To read a PDF file?

If you just need to read it, then use the free Acrobat Reader. If you must have access to the information in the PDF file, then you can use the text tool (T) in Acrobat reader to select all the text, then copy and paste it into a Word file.

Otherwise, bdog is right, you'll need Acrobat (which has Distiller) to edit/modify a PDF file and to create them from Word.

Good luck...

1. To convert a PDF document from Adobe Acrobat Reader to Microsoft Word->> http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q212/3/18.ASP

2. Third party software->> freeware,WinPDFdata is a free PERL/Tk application that allows you to extract information from PDF files and allows you to generate an HTML file(2000 can handle HTML, PER MS) http://www.sanface.com/winpdfdata.html

3. demo ver. "to convert large numbers of PDF's into other formats" http://www.iceni.com/argusSet.html http://www.iceni.com/productSet.html

I've always thought pdf files stank, so does MS.
They show no mention of Adobe or Acrobat or .pdf files in the Office 2000 arena.

They DO have text and picture converters however, here's a link that MAY be of help in the future.->>
