I need to get a replacement power supply ASAP. It's for a compaq presario(not mine)5150. On the power supply it says:Replace with Compaq Spare Power Supply 110W(yea, I was laughing too), [319235-001]. I went to compaq's website and it was pretty useless, so where would I order one from? Thanks in advance!!!

Any local computer store will sell them, check yellow pages. You should be able to get a 300w ps dirt cheap. I paid 40 Cdn including a 4 (5.25) bay case.

I need the same exact one. That's why the problem.
That's one of the big problems with proprietary machines, you can't just drop in standard parts.
You're probably in trouble here, Compaq parts are high-dollar new, IF you can find 'em.
Try to find a used comp or electronics place near you. Take the PS with you for comparison, you might get lucky & find something that'll fit the case, if not an exact match.
I see your profile shows you're in Chicago, & I know there's a LOT of sources there! Many of them come here (St Louis) for shows.
Anyway, somebody's GOT to have one lyng around...

One I looked at on a old unit had a different EXTRA power connector, bout 10 pins wide, white w'single lock tab.
Went to lots of trouble to change the mobo and hooked it up, Wrong, NO WORK.
Just looking ain't gonna get it, like Ed said, separate EACH wire end and inspect carefully.
Too, look on the PS info tag, some say like 175watt, 230/120vac, -5v +5v -12v +12v and +3.3 , look twice and twice more.

I'll definitely take this one with me when I go shopping for a new one. I have a feeling only one will fit. The case is so cramped. Is there a place I can get compaq replacement parts? Or do I have to or can go through place like Best Buy to get one?

camaro,
Try here!

Just put your part number 319235-001 into the box and you'll get your answer. They told me that they have 'em in stock, but 85 bucks apiece!!! Compaq and Dell and IBM replacement parts are like that, so unless you can find one at a yard sale or flea market, expect to pay anywhere from $50-100.
You can also try http://www.CompaqRepair.com/ . Again put your P/N in the search box. They don't say if they have them in stock or not, but they want $64.29. Cheap date compared to the $85 above, but Compaqrepair.com many not have them in stock!!!
Good luck...
