just what is that little speaker for. my modem speaker sounds my dialing, my sound speakers do all the program sounds beeps, dings etc. and CD rom. Ive never heard it do anything. hope this isnt to dumb http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

If your motherboard has virus and temp alert, they will sound through that speaker. Keep it connected.

Yeah, Canit is correct, I would also suggest you connect internal speaker back on. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif It beeps that your computer posted correctly.

thanks, I havn't disconnected it, just never heard it is there a way to check if it is working???

You should hear a single BEEP when your computer is posting.

if it doesnt beep when you turn it on try following the wires to where it connects to the motherboard, then pull it off and conect it backwards, there is a positive and negative side, if the wrong sides are connected it wont beep.
