Looked at both units specs and reviews. Need some advice on pros and cons from owners. Thanks

I assume we're talking about CD-RW's here?? I've got a LiteOn 16x10x40x, and it's been great. It'll burn an 80min 700mb disk with audo files in just under 5 minutes, and using the supplied NERO software, I have'nt had a coaster yet. I've got an AOpen 40x CDROM as well, and if their burners are as good as that has been, I would'nt worry too much on that one either. I bought the LiteOn because of the price (128Cdn), and after using it for a while, highly recommend it. Good burner, good value.

I have a light on in my girls computer. I bought it for my computer but it wouldn't work with anything attached to the same cable with it. Same thing in my girls computer. But in her rig I had an extra ide port on mine I didn't.

Philip......

This may be a tad late, but go to Liteon's website. There is a firmware update for your problem.
