I teach a class in professional and server 2000. In the course of my class I am constantly opening multiple windows in Server 2000. I cannot find a way to close multiple windows with a shortcut or click sequence and thus have to close each window one at a time before moving on to the next lesson. Most of my time is spent on Server 2000 and the class is following along so every person has to close all the windows (one by one) to continue on.

Is there a fast way to close multiple open windows in server 2000?

ALT+F4 will close the current active window, and if you hold them(ALT+F4) down it usually will continually close each successive window after that, as long as each window gains focus one after the other. (carefull when you hold them down, you may close every window before you even notice it!)

Hope this helps.

Edit: Also be carefull because once all the windows are closed it will then try to log off or shutdown...

WELCOME
you can Minimize all of you open windows by pressing the WINDOWS key and the M key on the key board
I know thats not exactly what you wanted but it might help a little

If a window is a child of another ( such as opening folders from network neighborhood ) you can simply press shift while clicking the X on the last window that opened.
