Who would try and hack a site run by people who know stacks about computers and is also populated by people who know a fair bit about this and that?

Is it an innocent software bug or is something more sinister at foot?

Anyhow I eagerly await an update.

Don't panic. Please remain calm <g>

We've been having assorted little glitches with the Community forum lately. This seems to be the latest incarnation.

Hopefully this matter will be resolved soon.

Until then, I have a thread in Networking.... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif and I'm sure there's a few with -0- replies that could use some help in the meanwhile http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

if you go to the main page and look at the title, half of the word community is in italics. if you click it and look at the url you'll see inside the url the 'I' tag surrounded by '<' '>' symbols.... which is what normally makes the BB think you're trying to hack the board. why you get the same message even w/o the symbols i don't know, but i'm willing to bet it's related.

just so everyone knows, that message (the "we have noted your attempt to hack..." one) is something that pops up when there is an internal error loop within the CGI.

it basically is printed when the CGI can't figure out what to do, and there are no real errors in it. this is often times what occurs when someone hacks it, so it's just an automatically-displayed message.

don't ask me how (as i have NO clue), but i managed to somehow post in the community. i won't reveal the URL of it. i am simply telling the mods of this, so that they can delete it (i'll be e-mailing, you socalgal, so you can delete it.)
