"Mafiaboy is also prohibited from possessing any software that's not commercially available; he can't use the Internet to talk with any other hacker; and he's banned from hacking into any other sites. He also must inform law enforcement authorities of the name of his Internet service provider."

Hahahahaha!!

Gotta love it!

hhhmmm, MafiaBoy gets 6 months, but yet they are trying to charge David McOwen* with $415,000 and 15 years in prison?? Ya, that sounds about right... (*drools with sarcasm*)

my two pennies worth...

cya!

* - Please note, I haven't kept up with the McOwen trial in quite awhile, so the $415,000 and 15 yrs may have changed by now... but still, something just doesn't add up!!

Supposedly the stakes have been raised int he McOwen case. It appears he is now up for 30 years and $550K. They added another felony charge. This is from http://www.freemcowen.com/

Anyone think his actions are cyber-terrorism?

Miville-Deschenes said that as part of the sentence, Mafiaboy is forbidden from profiting in any way from the incident until he has served his probation.

You mean after his probation he can profit from this if he can find a way? What a farce!

Yup. He will probably (if not already) be offered a job due to his "skillz."

Skillz?? Hmmm, if you mean being able to follow the directions in a readme.txt in some script-kiddy package, yes I'm sure he's highly qualified. However, he wasn't skilled enough or wise enough to care about covering his tracks or shutting his yap. What kind of business would want to hire an idiot like this??

And as for his sentence - it's disappointing but I'm not suprised. Canadian courts, under the young-offenders law, have given out lesser sentences for murder. It's a fu^^ed up system.

i used to talk to mafiaboy all the time, of course until this all happened. i for one am glad he didnt get too much time, since he was nice to me and i still consider him a nice guy, even you know he did disrupt a lot of businesses.

*cheers on mafiaboy*
