Why? Why is this so difficult and impossible?

I'm sure I've stated this problem here before.

I have a DSL service with a dynamic ip address. For some strange reason I cannot look up my external IP address. Whenever I look it up from my machine, it gives me the internal one that is used for the DSL.

Is there ANY WAY that I can change this? I'm going to be needing to find out my address often enough, soon enough and I don't like having to go to a specific webpage, just so it will display my IP address.

Use their little IP Agent program in the Shields Up section. It might work.

It works but... - The way GRC.COM works, is you cannot bookmark one of their pages. You have to start from the original page, and then go through like 4 or 5 pages just to get to where it will display your IP address.

Ehh... Nevermind. I'll just look it up through GRC.com.

Everything always has to be so difficult for me, when I know there has to be an easier way to do it. But I never find a solution - and it gets very tiresome.

Sure, there is a way.
Go to start--Run--type*command*(no quotes)in the black pop up DOS screen type *ipconfig*-no quotes,hit enter.
This will show ip address,subnet mask,defauly gateway

winipcfg.

I'm afraid not.

winipcfg displays my internal (not external) IP. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
