I am going to get the sb live and prob their dolby digital suround speakers, my one question is how will my dvd provide a digital signal, is there any special features i should be looking for to get a digital soundtrack from the dvd? thanks

Most DVD controller software is DD/DTS(5.1)capable. The cleanest(less noise) connection would be the digital output on the back of most DVD-rom's to the digital input of the sound card. If you will be connecting the sound card to a receiver/separates then look for a card with a coaxial or toslink(optical) output. Except for the platinum, I think those SB's only offer an 1/8" digital output.
