See that latest yet?

The Taliban presented some negotiations to the US. They would hand over bin Laden to an Islamic nation only and have to have a trial with at least one Muslim juror (I think, or it was a Muslim judge).

Bush said "No" and that we would not negotiate with the Taliban. Sweet. Good for him. Just getting bin Laden wouldn't solve much....there's still his goons out there along with a **** load of other terrorists and it wouldn't teach the Taliban (and other countries) a lesson.

Right now there is over 100 aircraft going to that area. A carrier battle group has been deployed. A girl in one of my classes said her brother who is in the Army, called last night and said he was being deployed to Pakistan.

Operation Infinite Justice is a go. Note that the heavy bombers are deploying as well(B-1's). The B-1B has sat out most conflicts due to flaws up until now. We're sending out the first team, people.

As if there was any doubt.

No, there really wasn't. I was just slightly surprised to see the taliban actually willing to hand him over.

It's just a political move. They knew we would never agree to their terms.

The scary thing is, Bin Ladin is only one of 27 siblings. His nephew went to college here in NH, but has recently gone back to Egypt upon his fathers request. You never how many more turned out like him. Not to mention all his "deciples"

The Taliban need to be removed as well as Bin Laden.

Unfortunately, it is not just bin Laden, or the Taliban that poses a terrorist threat to the world, there are dozens of organisations with the know how and the will to commit these horrific crimes.

The Afghan people are, by no means, all supporters of the Taliban movement, they have had very hard times in the recent past, lets not inflict more pain on the innocent in our efforts to get bin Laden.

I have never seen this much miltary aircraft activity at Harrisburg Intl. Airport. The National Gaurd flys training missions all the time, but for the last two days, the planes were clearly leaving... most appeared to be headed East.

When it begins, it will be long and hard - I'd hate to be on the receiving end. You're right about the 1st team, and there will be no let up - there may appear to be slow downs here and there - to the untrained eye - but things will be happening all the time.

We need to be prepared as well - I don't think this will be the walk in the park that the gulf war was - there will probably be a need to conduct small unit actions - and it will take longer - years is probably correct. And when we've finished with this jerk, we'll move on to the next one -

I keep thinking of the famous quote from General Patton -

"The American soldier provides his enemy with the maximum opportunity to die for his country" -

Ladies and Gentleman - we need to SUPPORT our folks in uniform!

Not to sound harsh, but we can't go *****-footing around, trying to not use ground troops in order to save lives (Kosovo). Those men joined knowing that they might die.

War is hell.

Are we to now spare 'innocents' when 6000+ of ours died in this attack?

These people have known for eons that these bastards were out to kill others that did not agree with the rest of the world. Are we now to say that we must not kill these people? I feel we must do the necessary to make the rest of the world know, if they just run their itty-bitty world to suit themselves, and leave us to hell alone, we will get along just fine.

All we ask of any body is to respect our beliefs..if they don't think the same?..then do what they think best in their own environment. If they cross the line, like they did on September 11th 2001, then they gave up all rights to any humain treatments from those of us that have earned the right to believe differently.
