I'm moving from the old computer to a better one. I burned my huge Netscape folder with all my bookmarks and mail etc. onto a cd and moved the folder to the new machine. Everytime I try to access one of the mail folders it says I don't have permission. What's up with this? I've done this many times before with no problems. any ideas? THANKS

check the atributes on the folder. I bet it's set to read only and many times when accessing it for the first time the application trying to import it needs to write to the folder.

Just a thought

Hello,
what platform is this on? e.g linux, OS2, Solaris, MacOs, windows...

Mnt is correct, as the files were copied with the "read only" attribute set, as they were transfered via cd-rom. Just right-click each file, then select properties, then uncheck the read only option. You then should be up and running with no probs.

Good Luck,
Robert Richmond

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!
You were right, the folder did not have attributes set but each individual file was set to "read only". In the past I had always transferred these files over a network or I had 2 hard drives in the machine and just dragged them to another window. I really appreciate the help as this saved over 3,000 emails related to my sales on Ebay.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
